PREMI INTERNACIONAL FREDERIC MOMPOU

El divendres 14 de desembre, el jurat del 28è. CONCURS DE JOVES
COMPOSITORS PREMI INTERNACIONAL FREDERIC MOMPOU, format pels senyors Lleonard Balada, Carles Guinovart, Martín Matalón, Kiev Portella i Jesús Rueda,  assistit per en Miquel M. Badal que actua com a secretari del concurs, analitzades i valorades les 35 obres presentades en termini i forma al concurs, un cop fetes les oportunes votacions, acorden per majoria
atorgar:
- El Premi Internacional FREDERIC MOMPOU a l'obra "IMPULSO" que fou presentada sota el pseudònim Prometeo, i de la que, un cop oberta la plica, en resulta autor el compositor veneçolà de nacionalitat xilena Miguel Antonio Farías Vásquez.
- També, i com a reflex de la qualitat de les obres presentades, s'ha decidit atorgar dues mencions honorífiques a les obres presentades pels compositors Andrew Stewart Allen, de nacionalitat nord-americana, i Elia Marios Joannou, d'origen xipriota.

PREMIO INTERNACIONAL FREDERIC MOMPOU

El viernes 14 de Diciembre, el jurado del 28º CONCURSO DE JÓVENES
COMPOSITORES PREMIO INTERNACIONAL FREDERIC MOMPOU, formado por los señores Lleonard Balada, Carles Guinovart, Martín Matalón, Kiev Portella y Jesús
Rueda,  asistido por el señor Miquel M. Badal que actúa como secretario del concurso, analizadas y valoradas las 35 obras presentadas en plazo y forma al concurso, una vez hechas las oportunas votaciones, acordan por mayoría
otorgar:
- El Premio Internacional FREDERIC MOMPOU a la obra "IMPULSO" que fue presentada bajo el pseudónimo Prometeo, y de la cual, una vez abierta la plica, resulta autor el compositor venezolano de nacionalidad chilena Miguel Antonio Farías Vásquez.  

- También, y como reflejo de la calidad de las obras presentadas, se decide otorgar dos menciones honoríficas a las obras presentadas por los compositores Andrew Stewart Allen, de nacionalidad norteamericana, y Elia Marios Joannou, de origen chipriota.

28th YOUNG COMPOSER COMETITION, 2007
FREDERIC MOMPOU INTERNATIONAL AWARD

On Friday, 14 December, the jury of the 28th YOUNG COMPOSER COMPETITION for the FREDERIC MOMPOU INTERNATIONAL AWARD met.  The panel of judges was made up of Lleonard Balada, Carles Guinovart, Martín Matalón, Kiev Portella and Jesús Rueda, and assisted by Miquel Badal in his position as secretary of the jury. Once the 35 pieces in competition were analysed and the opportune voting took place, the jury decided by majority to grant the following awards:
- The FREDERIC MOMPOU International Award went to the piece "IMPULSO", presented under the pseudonym Prometeo, whose author proved to be, once the sealed letter was opened, the Venezuelan composer of Chilean nationality Miguel Antonio Farías Vásquez.  
- Furthermore, as a reflection of the quality of their works, two honourable mention awards were granted: one to American composer Andrew Stewart Allen and the other to Cypriot composer Elia Marios Joannou.
